They are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeping and Payroll Manager to join their team and lead the department. This individual will oversee the day-to-day operations of the firm's bookkeeping and payroll services. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, compliance with accounting standards, and efficient processing of client transactions and payroll. Work model:
On-Site
Hours during the busy season: 40 hours/week
Hours during the non-busy season: 36 hours/week (office closes at noon on Fridays)

What you will do:
Supervise and mentor a team of two bookkeepers
Ensure high-quality performance by providing guidance and support to bookkeepers
Conduct regular performance reviews and identify opportunities for development and training
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment
Ensure and review the accuracy of client financial records and reports
Process client's payroll and file tax deposits
Pull quarterly and year-end reports
Address client inquiries and resolve issues professionally and promptly
Oversee the recording of financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations
Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and summaries for management and clients
Identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement by analyzing financial data
Evaluate and improve bookkeeping processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracyImplement best practices and technology solutions to streamline operations
Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding bookkeeping and payroll matters

What you will need to be successful:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
5+ years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Keen attention to detail
Ability to work effectively with clients and team members
Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
