Under the direction of the Executive Committee of the Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce Board, the President is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that fulfill the mission of the Chamber from strategy through execution.

Essential Job Functions

1. Develops and recommends to the Board of Directors policies, programs, and procedures that will enable the Chamber to achieve its missions and goals.
2. Ensures timely and effective implementation of all Chamber activities and events approved by the Board and provides quantitative and qualitative analysis.
3. Identifies opportunities for economic development within the City of Adel and develops programs to benefit the growth and development of our members, as approved by the Board.
4. As a legal officer of the organization, has the authority to sign documents, incur Chamber-related expenses, deposit all money received, and coordinate with the Board Treasurer in preparation of monthly financial statements.
5. Prepares the agenda for monthly Board meetings, including financial statements and activity reports, and prepares agenda and notifies members of committee meetings.
6. Recruits and maintains business and community members and submits invoices for yearly dues to the membership.
7. Recruits and develops volunteers for committee membership within the board and to support external Chamber functions.
8. Recommends and trains new Board members.
9. Maintains all social media accounts, print materials and the website including Facebook, the weekly chamber email, and the annual Chamber guide.
10. Conducts interviews with business membership to determine needs for succession planning, issues with employee retention, and overall membership. satisfaction.
11. Collaborates wit City of Adel and Dallas County elected officials and staff on on economic development opportunities business development and retention.
12. Coordinates all Sweet Corn Festival activities with the assistance of the SCF Committee, including contracting with vendors, beer distributors, and music providers.
13. Maintains a positive public image for the Chamber and its members. Works closely with the Board and membership base to be active in all committee activities.
14. Provides self-transportation to all required meetings within or outside Chamber area.
15. Performs other tasks as directed by the Board.
