Job Description

The YouthWorks program at Project Iowa sets youth on a path for success with professional internships, training and mentoring. The YouthWorks Coordinator will work with high school seniors, employer partners, and community partners to connect students with professional internships and support them along their journey into the workforce.

This position is responsible for the experience of a YouthWorks participant from start to finish. You will play a key role in on-site recruitment and will be a lead facilitator for professional development programming. You will build relationships with students and provide individualized support to help participants achieve success in school, in the internship placement, and in life after high school. The YouthWorks Coordinator responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching, communicating with company stakeholders, assisting with the post-secondary planning process, and providing moral support.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Active Iowa Teaching license (required)

Experience

Experience working with youth with diverse backgrounds
Experience teaching or training groups (educational, nonprofit, community, etc.)
Bilingual or Multilingual fluency (preferred)
Experience in case management and/or program coordination (preferred)
