Job Description
The Events & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the planning, coordination, management, and marketing of all Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa’s special events. The coordinator will also be responsible for managing a public presence to build brand awareness and support for the mission. This includes creating content and managing social media channels, media opportunities and website. The coordinator will assist in the creation of materials and collateral used to communicate with donors and prospective donors.

Essential Job Functions
MAJOR DUTIES AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (Inclusive, but not limited to):
• Plan, coordinate and supervise all elements of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa’s special events.
• Develop innovative strategies to leverage funds in support of special events.
• Collaborate with Chief Development Officer and board leadership to ensure effective and appropriate solicitation of funds in support of special events.
• Select and manage event contractors, vendors and volunteers as needed.
• Coordinate special event messaging and brand strategies designed to cultivate and steward donors.
• Manage consistent streams of communication to donors and stakeholders, including producing newsletters, emails, impact reports, personal cards, new donor welcome packet and other physical mailers.
• Produce all fundraising collateral as needed, including acknowledgement letters, direct mail appeals and case for support documents.
• Assist with creating and sending direct mail appeals.
• In collaboration with the Resource Development team, develop and implement marketing and public relations strategies designed to build advocacy and financial support of Club programs, services and activities, and to increase participation of youth in the community.
• Update and maintain BGCCI’s website and web presence.
• Create and capture marketing content including photographs, videos, success stories and Club news on an ongoing basis.
• Design and execute a strategic social media plan to maximize all social networking opportunities.
• In collaboration with the Resource Development team, develop external fundraising and stewardship collateral, including an annual report, case statement, impact reports and newsletters.
• Provide editorial direction, design, production and approval of all BGCCI publications in order to maintain consistent messaging and adherence to Boys & Girls Clubs of America logo and brand standards.
GENERAL/OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Promote high ethical and professional standards in all activities and with all agency staff.
• Maintain ethical standards established for fundraising professionals.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor information.
• Ensure that supervisor is informed of any recurring or significant problems in a timely manner.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned.
Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in communications, event management, marketing, public relations, or related field required.
Experience
At least two years of work experience successfully managing special events in a non-profit setting preferred, including experience with donor relations. Knowledge of Boys & Girls Clubs preferred.
