Job Description

Provides direction for the delivery of community health services. Directs and supports program directors to carry out the daily operations for each program and supervision of staff.

Essential Job Functions

-Facilitates data-driven decisions for program improvement and assures the completion of required program reports.
-Project Director for Title V MCH Block Grant.
-Participates in the development of agency budgets and implements approved budget for areas of responsibility.
-Assists with the grant application processes and other program-related opportunities.
-Oversees managers to ensure adequate staffing levels and maintains a high quality work force. Participates, as needed, in recruitment and terminations, monitoring staff performance, and conducting regular performance assessments including the annual performance appraisal process.
-Ensures staff and programs stay abreast of applicable changes in health care industry impacting programs and practices. Provides professional guidance to staff regarding agency policies and procedures.
-Monitors on an on-going basis national, state, and other identified health indictors that reflect the health of the Polk County community. Utilizing the data, tailor programs to improve the health of the community
-Assists the CEO in evaluating agency programs, policies, and services. ----Participates in the development of business plans and in the strategic planning process.
-Participates as a member of the EveryStep senior leadership team.
-Participates in professional activities (i.e. continuing education, publication, and research) and stays abreast of findings, practices and recommendations in the field of public nursing and community health services.
-Represents the agency at meetings and committees and participates in public relation and community activities that promote the organization’s role as an effective member of the health care delivery system.
-Complies with accepted professional standards and principles and carries out the mission and vision of EveryStep.
-Participates on Advocacy Team and attends Legislative functions on a routine basis.


-Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the scope of the position (Public or Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing, Social Work, etc). Masters Preferred but not required.


-At least ten years of upper-management experience in community relations, marketing, governmental relations, public relations and/or public administration.
