Reports To: Chief Advancement Officer
Job Summary: The Problem Gambling Outreach Coordinator will provide end to end project management and community outreach efforts specific to gambling addiction (50%). They will assist with our Mobile medication-assisted treatment (MAT) Clinic (50%) with outreach efforts while remaining aligned with the organization's strategy, commitments, and goals. Create project plans, administer everyday workflow of all implementation processes, and provide support to all team members. Identify and create partnerships that will support the execution and outcomes of the project.

They will also adhere to all UCS policies and procedures, including patient confidentiality, HIPAA/ 42CFR part 2, and all CARF requirements. Essential Functions (80%):
Problem Gambling Outreach Tasks:
Develop, implement, and evaluate public education, prevention, or health promotion programs, working in collaboration with organizations, institutions, or communities in Jasper and Marion Counties.
Design and deliver educational programs and training sessions to inform individuals, families, and professionals about the signs, risks, and consequences of problem gambling.
Mobile MAT:
Partner and Assist outreach efforts with the Mobile MAT Unit team around the state of Iowa.
Partner and Assist Iowans interested in applying for presumptive Medicaid.
Provide Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Assessments
Across Both Programs:
Develop and execute detailed project plans, monitoring progress and ensuring on-time delivery while upholding quality standards.
Facilitate communication within the team and ensure coordinated efforts.
Manage educational materials, including ensuring allocation and availability.
Report and escalate to management as needed.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders involved in projects.
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
Create educational materials, brochures, and online resources to disseminate information and promote awareness of available support options in collaboration with the Marketing Director.
Other Functions (20%):
Stay updated on the latest research, trends, and treatment methods related to problem gambling and MAT.
As needed, assist other departments in developing new partnerships, projects, and engagement reports.
Minimum Required Education, Skills & Experience:
Knowledgeable about harm reduction and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
Willingness to drive or learn to drive an RV.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
Strong organizational skills.
Must excel in a team environment, adhere to agency policy and procedures, engage in critical thinking, and utilize problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively with colleagues and community partners.
Ability to use de-escalation skills in resolving conflict when necessary.
Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends for community events or outreach activities.
Preferred Education, Skills & Experience:
Experience in leadership and networking is preferred.
Prior training in assisting with Presumptive Medicaid applications
Experience performing Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT)
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or other related field.
Experience in Project management and Outreach.
Will be trained regarding problem gambling treatment services, resources, and behaviors but experience with problem gambling preferred. Familiarity with community resources, treatment options, and referral networks for problem gambling. Knowledge of problem gambling issues, addiction theories, and evidence-based interventions.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Physical Requirements:
Travel is required (estimated 30%, no overnights)
A valid driver's license is required (an Iowa driver's license is required within 30 days of hire), and liability insurance or an equivalent means of personal transportation and coverage as travel within the state of Iowa may be necessary.
Communicating with others to exchange information.
Occasional lifting and carrying equipment, boxes, medical supplies, or other materials.

Work Schedule: Exempt Salaried Role. Typical core hours Monday-Friday with availability to work occasional evenings or weekends for community events or outreach activities.
Office Location: Based in West Des Moines IA (1300 Woodland Ave). Hybrid with 50% of time being in office with current in office days being Monday, Thursday, Friday.
