Job Description

We have a full-time position available for a Float Substance Use Disorder Counselor based in West Des Moines, Iowa. We offer a competitive hourly wage and benefits package. This role will float across and provide coverage for all of our agency office locations. Drive time and mileage incurred as apart of coverage responsibilities will be paid.

Substance Use Disorder Counselors assist clients in achieving goals through counseling services.

As part of UCS Healthcare, team members will follow all laws and regulations, including those at the Federal, State, and Local level. They will also adhere to all UCS policies and procedures, including patient confidentiality, HIPAA/ 42CFR part 2, and all CARF requirements. All team members will operate in alignment with UCS Healthcare's core values, work effectively in a team environment, provide or support patient-centered services, and strive to assist UCS Healthcare in delivering the highest level of care.

Essential Job Functions

Conduct initial assessment, admission, and transition planning

Provides individual and group counseling to patients

Maintain a client caseload in accordance with assigned duties

Participate in quality assurance meetings and counselor staffing's

Develop individualized treatment plans

Complete documentation for patients in required time frame

Evaluate treatment plans and define goals with patients served as required by level of care

Maintain patient charts and data as mandated by state, federal and agency requirements)

Regular Attendance is required

Assess progress of patients served in relation to the treatment applied on an ongoing basis

Coordinate delivery of treatment modalities

Collaborate treatment functions with outside agencies

Apprise supervisor of problems encountered in caseloads

Attend approved conferences and meetings to secure and maintain credentials.

Monitor and provide coverage for agency crisis line

Implement evidenced based curriculums identified as appropriate by management.

Interpret referral paperwork to determine appropriate level of care

Engage in a fast pace, problem solving workflow

Education

Minimum Required Education:
Associates degree.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree.


Current CADC with Iowa Board of Certification.

Experience

Experience with group facilitation, understanding of substance use disorders, and comprehension of counseling theories.
