The Senior Livestock Coordinator coordinates the movement of livestock from receiving area to the holding pens.

The position summary states the general nature and purpose of the job. Overall accountabilities are defined in this section.

Core Responsibilities
Ensures company assets are protected by monitoring and resolving data communications.

Ensure system program is functioning properly to meet the needs of production.

Prepares reports for other departments as needed.

Ensures all shifts are covered.

Trains staff on diagnostic and monitoring procedures to meet the needs of the company.

Dispatches local telephone company for down systems.

Serves as 911 Dispatch for emergencies.

Distributes work assignments and monitors daily logs.

Attends staff meetings to report on and resolve recurrent problems.

Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

Answers questions and recommends corrective services to address customer complaints.

Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules and expedites workflow.

Enters record of actions taken to resolve problem in daily log.

Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.

Incumbent will be responsible for understanding and complying with company SIPS, EMS and BMS policies and procedures while performing their job duties.

Report all environmental issues immediately to their supervisor.

Read and understand the company’s emergency notification process and will be responsible for reviewing that policy at their work site.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 4+ years verifiable livestock handling experience required.

Producer Quality Assurance and Truckers Quality Assurance, preferred.

USDA Bonded, preferred.

Bobcat Safety Training Certificate, preferred.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Captive bolt trained to euthanize downed pigs.

Strong math skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Ability to make independent decisions.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to multi-task, prioritize daily work assignments and manage time wisely.

Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.

Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may act as a lead by providing training and guidance to others on the Hog Procurement team.

The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.

Noise level in the work environment can be loud when in the production area.

Frequently required to move and/or lift 100 pounds and occasionally required to move and/or lift more than 50 pounds.

Specific vision includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
