Job Description
Sharing the gospel, connecting children to Jesus and their peers, and training them to be lifelong followers of Jesus is a major responsibility and an important ministry at Simple Church. We are looking for someone to lead Simple Church’s efforts to minister to children in our church, their family, and the broader community. The ideal candidate has significant experience ministering to children and parents, as well as experience managing volunteers. This role requires a person who relates well with people of different ages and backgrounds. This role works in harmony with The Ministry Team, and has a firm grasp on the vision, mission, and core values of Simple Church.

Essential Job Functions
Children & Parents:
● Oversee all programming for children (birth - 5th grade) throughout the church.
● Review all curriculum used in the children’s ministry and ensure that they are consistent
with the church’s doctrinal commitments.
● Leads, oversees, and promotes the ongoing spiritual growth of children and equips their
parents to do the same.
● Establish and maintain a security system that protects children in our church’s care.
● Develop and facilitate communication with parents and guardians that support continued
biblical growth for children at home.
● Facilitate open communication, and an excellent experience, for parents during the
check-in and check-out process during regular Sunday services & special events.
● Plans and implements at least one annual children’s retreat, conference, or camp.
Volunteers & Staff:
● Recruit, develop, and deploy Children’s Ministry volunteers – the “Dream Team.”
● Manage all Children’s Ministry staff that work with children.
Operations:
● Work alongside The Ministry Team and The Advisory Team to develop an annual budget (July – June fiscal year) for The Children’s Ministry.
● Regularly report to The Ministry Team and The Pastoral Team about the accomplishments and challenges of the children’s ministry.
● Advocate for and help facilitate visibility of The Children’s Ministry in the main church services and communication.
● Oversees the purchasing and inventory of all Children’s Ministry supplies and tools.
● Continue research and development for opportunities to strategically grow children and
their families spiritually and for opportunities to strategically grow the ministry’s reach.
● Define metrics to measure for success and measure them month over month.
Education
● At least 3 years of experience working with children in a church, school, or similar
setting. Ministry experience of 2 years or more is also preferred..
● Degree/Credentials preferred; either in Primary Education and/or Christian Ministry
