Job Description
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and administrative officer of the Chamber. While volunteers and board members support many Chamber initiatives, the Executive Director is the central coordinator, communicator, and advocate for our members and the broader business community.
This position reports directly to the Board of Directors.

Essential Job Functions
Organizational Leadership & Governance
Operate the Chamber in accordance with bylaws, policies, and established procedures.
Recommend updates to bylaws, policies, and long-range plans.
Coordinate board elections and assist with identifying potential board candidates.
Attend community meetings and provide updates to the Board of Directors.
Maintain the Chamber’s 501(c)(6) status and ensure compliance with all regulations.
Oversee all financial operations, including income, expenditures, and bank accounts.
Prepare monthly financial and operational reports.
Assist with annual budget preparation and ensure expenditures remain within approved limits.
Seek new revenue opportunities and consult with professional accountants as needed.
Manage and train new employees.
Meetings & Events
Oversee Chamber operations including newsletters, website updates, business promotions, tourism initiatives, ambassador programs, and business forums.
Lead the annual strategic planning meeting and coordinate the plan of work with board liaisons.
Organize meetings, notify members, and support committees and task forces.
Recruit and coordinate volunteers.
Assist with planning and executing community events that support business growth and tourism.
Support event co-chairs, manage timelines, and participate in all Chamber-sponsored events.
Coordinate ribbon cuttings, open houses, networking events, and other Chamber activities.
Maintain updated information for all major Chamber events.
Membership & Records
Develop and implement strategies to recruit, engage, and retain Chamber members.
Drive membership and sponsorship sales through proactive outreach, including phone calls and in-person visits.
Maintain accurate membership records and contact information.
Build strong relationships with current and prospective members.
Assess member needs and recommend solutions to support retention and growth.
Track membership progress and provide monthly reports.
Community & Public Relations
Maintain strong relationships with city officials, county supervisors, and state legislators.
Represent the Chamber at community events, City Council meetings, and other public activities.
Communicate Chamber initiatives to local officials and stakeholders.
Issue press releases and share Chamber news with media outlets.
Perform public speaking duties as needed.
Manage the Chamber website, community calendar, social media platforms, and email communications.
Develop brochures, publications, and promotional materials.
Seek opportunities to promote Chamber events through community calendars and publications.
Education
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public relations, advertising, or related field OR four years of relevant management or business experience.
