Job Description

Location: West Des Moines Office (in-person, flexible scheduling)
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Duration: January – May 2026 (flexible with dates)
Compensation: Paid internship, $18–$22 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Digital Communications Intern will help tell Iowa Health Care Association's (IHCA’s) story by creating and sharing content that connects with our members across Iowa’s long-term care community. From email newsletters to event promotions and website updates, you’ll help us communicate the important work being done in long-term and post-acute care, as well as the services IHCA provides to health care professionals.

This internship offers the opportunity to build your skills in digital marketing, content creation and communications strategy while contributing to a mission-driven organization.

Essential Job Functions

- Assist in creating and distributing digital newsletters and email marketing campaigns.

- Support the maintenance and accuracy of IHCA’s website content.

- Create content for IHCA’s social media channels and website.

- Design graphics and visuals for social media, newsletters and event promotions.

- Collaborate with IHCA team members to execute communications for upcoming events and education programs.

- Perform basic video editing of online education courses.

Education

Currently pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, graphic design or a related field.
