SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS: The Talent Development Intern supports the Talent Development and Inclusive Strategies team and assists with planning and delivering signature talent programming and initiatives. This position requires exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to problem solve, think critically and interact with a variety of constituents while creating a positive impression for Investors, event participants, stakeholders and guests. This position includes in-office and on-site event hours from May through August. The intern is expected to work 30-40 hours/week in our The Partnership Offices within the hours of M-F, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., along with various evening hours at times.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPSONSIBILITIES:
Supports The Legacy Project: Career Ready Collective program and operations.
Supports the Talent team to create unique opportunities for students in DSM USA through the DSM Intern Connection program.
Provides on-site event support for Talent team, which includes set up and tear down of events, participant communication and event management.
Assist with execution of strategic priorities, talent attraction campaign, talent retention programs and K-12 engagement.
Analyzes data and resources and compiles reports to clearly communicate project and event outcomes.
Researches best practices and workforce readiness initiatives to support an innovative talent development team.
Assists with execution of Talent Development and Inclusive Strategies priorities as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to interact confidently and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders, including Partnership Investors, Regional Chamber Members, students, partners and prospective talent.
Very strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously while supporting programs from start to finish.
Must be detail oriented, self-starter and be able to multi-task.
Highly adaptable and have the ability to work well with others and within a team, both internally and externally.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive or proprietary information.
Education and Experience:
Working toward a bachelor’s degree in business, communication studies or related fields.
Some experience in communications, marketing or business is preferred.
