The Greater Des Moines community is a vibrant and exciting place with plenty of things to do, places to go and people to see!
One of Bill’s favorite spots for a meal is Prairie Canary, a local restaurant known for its New American dishes, cocktails and craft brews. For an added touch of intrigue, the Canary Underground Speakeasy awaits downstairs with a sophisticated and timeless atmosphere. It’s open Fridays and Saturdays from 6 p.m. to close – just make sure to check the website for the nightly door code.
If craft drinks are on the agenda, Bill knows a spot for those too: Grinnell Craft Brewhouse. This brewery taproom serves craft beer, cider, wine and non-alcoholic beverages, plus regular events. Visit their Facebook page for the latest on karaoke, Pictionary, trivia and more.
Grinnell’s food and drink scene doesn’t stop at craft beer, Bill also enjoys visiting Solera for personal-sized pizzas and a wine bar. While the pizza menu changes on a regular basis, Solera promises there will always be something for both carnivores and vegetarians. After grabbing a personal pizza, settle in for one of the many events Solera offers.
