DSM offers small town convenience with big city amenities. The cost of living for the quality of life is unmatched, especially for young professionals!
One of Karter’s favorite ways to spend a Saturday is with yoga in the East Village followed by a stroll through the Downtown Farmers’ Market, which runs every Saturday morning, May through October. Market visitors can explore offerings of local produce, meat, baked goods, flowers and more.
For lunch, Karter enjoys Flora Café at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden. After a farm to table meal, he likes to walk through the gardens and take in the green spaces. With both an indoor and outdoor garden, visitors are sure to appreciate the flora no matter the season.
For a night out, Karter recommends sushi at W. Tao, a restaurant known for its fresh ingredients and premium drinks in Downtown DSM’s Historic Court District. Next, walk over to Bomb Bar, just down the road for darts, drinks and a good time.
