Des Moines is the perfect blend of amazing restaurants, incredible art performances and welcoming people who all share a love for the Des Moines region and the state of Iowa.
One of Sarah’s favorite things to do in DSM is attend shows at the Des Moines Civic Center with family. She enjoys all the incredible performances that come through DSM and the lineup of Broadway favorites that are part of the Willis Broadway Series.
Sarah also enjoys the fantastic selection of restaurants. DSM boasts a vibrant foodie scene that caters to all tastes and preferences, offering a variety of dining experiences. From farm-to-table eats, locally owned restaurants, high energy breweries and tons more, DSM’s culinary options are abundant and truly diverse.
The Iowa State Fair is also included in Sarah’s list of top faves here. Showcasing the best of the state in agriculture, industry, entertainment and achievement, The Fair is the single largest event in the state of Iowa. The annual event is full of mouthwatering foods, live music and entertainment, agricultural activities and the Midwestern hospitality that locals both know and love.
