In her free time, Erin enjoys exploring the local arts and culture, spending time at the library with her kids and being outdoors.

I love Greater Des Moines for its energy, creativity and the way it brings families together. Grimes is where that spirit becomes personal; it’s where my kids ride their bikes, where neighbors become friends and where I get to pour into a community that has given me so much.
Whether Erin’s grabbing a coffee to go, meeting a friend or settling in to get some work done, Lightbrite Coffee Roasters is her pick. Offering seasonal specials, matcha, a few non coffee options and coffee beans, Lightbrite is a favorite for coffee lovers in the area.
The Grimes Public Library is another favorite for Erin and her family. Officially opened in January of 2024, the library features a children’s area, teen space, study rooms and a coffee bar. Nearly daily events, like Teen Tuesday and Family Night, bring the community together.
