One of Steve’s favorite things about the DSM region is its expansive trail system. With more than 800 miles of recreational trails, there’s always a new path to explore. In Altoona, the Gay Lea Wilson Trail takes riders across the city, passing local businesses, parks and stretches of wooded areas.
After some time on the trails, Steve likes to grab a bite at one of his favorite local spots. For a naturally aged Certified Angus steak, head to The Big Steer Restaurant & Lounge. If you’re in the mood for something more casual, Fireside Grill often features trivia or bingo nights alongside its menu.
