Governor's District in Grimes

Any up-and-coming neighborhood needs someone to believe in it and in Grimes, that support is coming from community members, city leaders and the Iowa Economic Development Authority. The Governor's District is a prime example of what’s possible when communities come together to revitalize historic areas.

With a ton of excitement surrounding the revitalization of this downtown area, this is a location where you can get your foot in the door with Grimes housing. Historic downtown buildings are being assessed and repurposed, while new construction is happening, too, including South Elevation, a 17-unit apartment and townhome project that will break ground in 2025.
