Kayla Willms lives in Guthrie Center, a rural community in western Greater Des Moines (DSM) and works as a Marketing Coordinator at Midwest Partnership, an economic development office that services three counties in DSM. In her spare time, Kayla enjoys dining at local restaurants and trying new activities with her kids.

DSM has a welcoming spirit that makes raising kids nearby feel like a privilege — it's a place where the hustle of city life blends perfectly with the tranquility of rural living.
Every year, Kayla looks forward to the beginning of August, when the Iowa State Fair is held for 11 days. With activities like concerts, amusement park rides, lots of unique food and livestock, the fair draws in millions of visitors from around the world!
Another thing that Kayla loves about DSM is how many activities there are for her to do with her children! One of her favorite activities includes visiting the Blank Park Zoo in DSM and the parks in Guthrie Center.
If you're looking for a unique dining experience, Kayla recommends stopping at Prime Time Restaurant a sports bar with an option for casual dining. Open Tuesday through Saturday, the restaurant has daily lunch specials (excluding Saturdays) and has a dinner menu with pasta, steak, salad and more.
