Matt Sexton lives in Altoona at the heart of the Greater Des Moines (DSM) region and works as a Community Development Manager at Meta. In his spare time, Matt enjoys trying new restaurants and attending local festivals.

The DSM region truly punches above its weight – especially for millennials like me – offering an impressive range of amenities, events and communities, all paired with welcoming people and an affordable cost of living.
One of Matt’s favorite things about the DSM region is the food and drink scene – from inventive New American dishes at Harbinger to the romantic, modern American atmosphere at Oak Park, plus standout spots like Simon’s and Skip’s.
Matt takes full advantage of the region’s vibrant live music scene, from major acts at Casey’s Center to intimate shows at Wooly’s, Hoyt Sherman Place, Val Air Ballroom and Vibrant Music Hall. He also enjoys annual festivals such as the World Food & Music Festival, Oktoberfest, CelebrAsian, and Pride Fest.
From May through October, Matt spends many Saturdays at the Downtown Farmers’ Market. When he’s in the mood for something more high-energy, he heads to K1 Speed in Grimes for go-kart racing or meets friends for games at Smash Park in West Des Moines.
