Des Moines is a place where you can work hard, play hard and raise a family filled with entertainment and culture.
One of Sadie’s favorite things about the DSM region is its expansive trail system. With more than 800 miles of recreational trail, there’s always a new path to explore; whether biking, walking, or running. Along the way, you can stop at art installations, breweries, coffee shops, and even encounter a few goats!
After a walk on the trails, Sadie likes to refuel at one of the many restaurants across the region. Urbandale offers several options to dine including Mexican eats and cocktails at Hidalgo Mexican Bar & Grill, sushi in a modern lounge at Wasabi, Turkish staples at Istanbul Grill and deep-dish pizza at Felix & Oscar’s.
When she’s not on the trails or trying a new restaurant, Sadie finds inspiration in the region’s arts and culture scene. In Urbandale, the Prairie Tower stands out as a massive Italian glass mosaic mural and the largest of its kind in the United States. In Downtown Des Moines (DSM), the Pappajohn Sculpture Park transforms the city into a vibrant and outdoor gallery.
