One of Dustyn’s DSM favorites is The District at Prairie Trail, “a true gem of Ankeny”. The District offers more than 20 dining options, unique shops, a B&B Theatre and a library, making it a hot spot for all ages and life stages.

As a youth baseball and softball coach, Dustyn spends lots of time on the field at Prairie Ridge Sports Complex. With beautifully maintained baseball and soccer fields, connected walking trails, stocked ponds, parks and concessions, it’s a great place to spend an afternoon, evening – or the entire summer!

But the Sports Complex isn’t the only place to get outside. Dustyn also recommends The High Trestle Trail, with multiple trail heads in Ankeny. This trail includes over 25 miles of path that is connected to 5 different communities and has convenient stops for food and beverages along the way. Though, Dustyn says the highlight of the trail is the 13-story bridge spanning over the Des Moines River that lights up at night.
